She was a 1924 graduate of Pottstown High School and attended Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. She had been a 50- year member of Christ United Presbyterian Church in Drexel Hill, PA, where she was a Deacon, Trustee, Elder, choir member and teacher of the Women's Bible Class. After moving to Allentown she was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was an accomplished pianist, an award-winning member of Drexel Hill Garden Club, and founding member of the Letitia Penn Chapter of Questers. She also loved sewing and handwork, bridge, and travelling throughout the world with her husband in their retirement.
Survivors: Daughter, Susan Bechtel Parker wife of T. Richard Parker of Macungie, Grandchildren: Sara Parker Henderson (Graeme) of Madison, NJ, Rebecca Parker Abbott (Derek) of Hockessin, DE, and Thomas Bechtel Parker (Anne) of Mendham, NJ. and Great Grandchildren: William and Timothy Henderson, Charlotte, Hope and Paige Abbott and Katharine, Matthew and Elizabeth Parker. She was predeceased by Brothers: Richard and Leonard Scheffey.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Monday at 1:30 P.M. in the Chapel at the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3231 W. Tilghman St., Allentown. Arrangements by the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
