Longo, whose imposing physique helped him land dozens of roles as the big tough guy in television and film over a 30-plus-year career, moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980s and immediately landed a role as "Artie" opposite Linda Lavin on the TV series 'Alice'. Among other TV shows he appeared in were 'Laverne & Shirley', 'St. Elsewhere', 'The Facts of Life', 'Hell Town', 'Simon & Simon', 'Police Academy: The Series', 'Full House', 'Renegade', 'Empty Nest', 'Coach', 'The X Files', 'ER', 'The Mentalist', 'Numb3rs', 'Shameless', 'Alibi Boys' and was a regular on the soap operas 'The Young and the Restless' and 'Days of Our Lives'. He appeared in several films, including 'Sixteen Candles' (1984), 'Splash' (1984), 'Fletch' (1985), 'Feds' (1988), 'Mr. Destiny' (1990), 'The Last Boy Scout' (1991), 'Angels in the Outfield' (1994), 'Eraser' (1996), 'Living in Peril' (1997), 'Mulholland Drive' (2001), 'How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days' (2003), 'Sinatra Club' (2010) and 'Coiled' (2014). Longo, who was once struck by lightning while filming on location in Arizonia, died in his sleep from natural causes.
