In 1974, Faisal was named Time Magazine's Man of the Year. On March 25, 1975, King Faisal was assassinated by his brother's son, Prince Faisal bin Musad. The prince was declared officially insane. He was later found guilty of regicide and was beheaded in the town square in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in June 1975.
