Green-Wood Cemetery
Section 17, Public Lot 17245, Grave #389.
Public lot graves, measuring about 4 by 8 feet in area, have room for only one stone apiece, limiting the space for inscribed text. A typical public lot grave can accommodate about 5 adults—more if those interred are infants or have been cremated. Like many public lot graves, this one is unmarked. It is at the center of the photo, about 6 feet to the right of the KOHLBECK stone. Near that spot, the photo shows a stone that has fallen forward. On a 1920s map of this area, a stone is indicated on grave #389. The fallen stone may be the FREITAG stone. Arrangements can be made with cemetery staff to reset that stone.
