IOWA,Louisiana — Linda Conner Prather, 56, passed away at 12:52 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Prather was born in Lake Charles and lived most of her life in Iowa. She was a graduate of Iowa High School and McNeese State University. She earned a B.A. and a master’s degree in early childhood education. She r etired after 30 years of service as a teacher with J.I. Watson Elementary. Her passion was playing the piano. Mrs. Prather was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
She is survived by one brother, Lee Joseph Conner Jr. of Ward, Ark.; two stepsons, Tim Prather Jr. and Gilbert Prather, both of Leesville; two grandsons; two granddaughters; two nephews; four nieces; seven great-nephew s; and four great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Allen Prather; one brother, Alfred Grady Conner; and one stepdaughter, Tammy Prather.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in Johnson Funeral H ome. The Rev. Gary Eavers will officiate. Burial will be in Pinehill Cemet ery.
