Mr. Sanday was born Sept 20, 1923, the son of John and Johannah (nee Drinkhorn) Sanday. He attended Romeo School System. He married Blanche Hunt in Romeo Oct. 3, 1977.
He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the Pacific Theatre.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche, one son and grandchildren, Walter & Ada Sanday and children Amber and Raymond of Allenton, one daughter, Maryann Sanday of Florida; four brothers, Marland of Texas, Edwin of Atlanta, MI, Robert and Manley both of Melvin, MI (All but Edwin are now deceased and on find a grave) and five step-chlidren.
Services were held Aug 12, at the Roth-Muir Funeral home in Romeo.

Cpl. Walter Sanday received his discharge from the U.S. Army on January 2, at Fort Sheridan, Illinois, and is at the home of his mother, Mrs. John Sanday. He served two and one half years overseas, mainly on Leyte and Okinawa. Cpl. Sanday was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon with two bronze battle stars, 5 overseas Service Stars, 5 overseas Service Bars and the Good Conduct medal and the Phillipines Liberation Ribbon with 2 bronze battle stars.
