Henry was baptized in the Lutheran Church as an infant. Henry was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the Zion Lutheran Church in Colome. He attended rural school at Rosebud School and graduated from Colome High School in 1954.
Henry enlisted in the Army and went to basic training in 1956. He finished his time in the service at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City with an honorable discharge. Henry then spent three more years in the SD National Guard.
After returning from the service, Henry farmed and ranched with his dad and brother. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Colome and served on the Church Council. Henry was on the Township Board and Weed Board. Henry liked hunting and bowling and enjoyed stockcar races.
Henry passed away peacefully at his home February 15, 2015 at the age of 78 years.
Henry is survived by his brother Roger Miller and his wife Jeanette and their two children Nancy Miller and Ron Miller and girls of Colome, SD; one sister Delores and her husband Peter Duffy of Clearfield, SD and their six children Brad and Judy Duffy and family of Winner, SD, Deb and Dave Pazour and family of Kimball, SD, Dan and Patti Duffy and family of Clearfield, SD, Deanna and Tom Calligaro of Fairfax, VA, Barb and Mike Jonkers and family of Avon, SD, and Brenda DeGraw and family of Sioux Falls, SD, and many other family and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Frieda Miller.

Funeral services for Henry Miller of Colome, SD, were held Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Colome with Pastor Don Windsperger officiating. A prayer service was held Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home.
Music was provided by Roxie Summerville, pianist. Congregational songs were "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," "Amazing Grace," "Beautiful Savior," and "Savior Again to Thy Dear Name."
Connie Steinke and Donna Shippy were in charge of registration.
Flower attendants were Myrna Pechota and Caroline Peterson.
Casket Bearers were Randy Steinke, Alan Steinke, Ray Worden, Gene Bertram, Dan Wranek, and Roger Slouka.
Interment with Military Honors was in the Colome City Cemetery, Colome, SD.
