Clarence Verdale (Shorty) Schneider of Lincoln, passed away Saturday (4/28/07) after a brave battle with lung cancer. He was born in Fairmont, Nebraska in 1927 to Clarence O. and Elsie M. (Eggert) Schneider. He graduated from Exeter High School in 1944 then jointed the U.S. Army..
He was employed at Western Electric, Elgin Watch, American Stores, as a custodian at Trinity Lutheran Church and finally as a courier at Union Bank. Member of American Legion Post 3.
Survived by: wife, Lucia (Ochsner); daughter, Starla Buehler, Lincoln; son, daughter-in-law, Ricky and Deborah Schneider, Lincoln; granddaughter, grandson-in-law, Nicole and Justin Myers; grandchildren, Melanie and Cody Schneider; two great-grandchildren; brother, sister-in-law, Henry and Mary Schneider, Longmont, Colo.; sisters, LaVerda Hunt, Fairmont, Charleen Otte, Columbus; sister, brother-in-law, Darleen and Ray Higgins, Wessington Springs, S.D.
Preceded in death by: infant brother, Donald Dean; granddaughter, Heidi Buehler; parents.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Trinity Lutheran Church, 724 S.12th St. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation: 3-8 p.m. today; 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday, with family greeting friends 6-8 p.m., all at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or School or Tabitha Hospice.
