Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:30AM until 11AM at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11AM at the church. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. The Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Tooty was born on April 9, 1927 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Lawrence and Hertha (Junker) Smith.
She married Edward G. Vanko on May 9, 1949 and he survives.
Also surviving are daughters Janeen Vanko of Elgin and Deborah Vanko of Des Moines, Iowa, sisters Marge Jensen of Peru, IL and Donna Uphoff of Washington, IL.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Gloria Arndt.
Tooty graduated from the Rutland High School and retired from Owens Illinois Glass and was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and church Altar Guild and sewing group. She also volunteered for many years with the Streator American Red Cross and St. Mary’s Hospital. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and baking.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Streator Red Cross.
