Major League Baseball Player. He was infielder for eight seasons with the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates. Baker was named to the 1955 National League All Star Team and was a member of the 1960 World Champion Pirates. In a career of 630 games, Baker had 590 hits and a lifetime batting average of .265. After retiring as a player he was a coach with the Pirates during the 1963 season.
