Sylvia Jean Brady
GOLD HILL - Sylvia Jean Wagoner Brady, 74, of Gold Hill, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Sylvia was born on Oct. 15, 1940 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Ruben and Henrietta Haycock Wagoner.
She attended Boyden High School and worked for N.C. Finishing Company for over 35 years. After retiring she worked part-time for the Saleeby Fisher YMCA and Dan Nicholas Park. Sylvia was a caregiver, always watching over the elderly in her community. She also loved cooking and taking in animals.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Alan Brady; a son, David Alan Brady; brother, Tony Wagoner and sister, Gail Athey.
Survivors include a son, Roy Laten Brady and wife Jessie, of Gold Hill; daughter, Megan Leigh Brady, of Salisbury; brother, Walter "Butch" Brady, of Gold Hill; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Sylvia was dearly loved and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Brady family.
