Marjorie Williams, of Tuscaloosa, died July 9, 2015, at home. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Marjorie Mae or "Sissie" grew up in Fruitdale, Ala., as part of a large, close-knit family that loved to spend time together and "jo-ree" in unending humor. She married her childhood sweetheart, Marvin, and moved to Tuscaloosa, where they raised five children. After living in Rosewood neighborhood for over 60 years, Marjorie and Marvin had to relocate after their home was destroyed in the 2011 tornado. She was a longtime member of Alberta United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and volunteered tirelessly in youth, fellowship, fund raising, Boy Scouting and community service events. Later she was a member of Forest Lake United Methodist Church and the Koinonia Sunday School class, where she and Marvin volunteered for many years with the Meals on Wheels program.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Forest Lake United Methodist Church, Fruitdale United Methodist Church, or Meals on Wheels.
