Ike L. Anderson, 92, of Martinsville, died Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Blue Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville. He was born in Chatham, Va. on April 18, 1923 to Frank T. Anderson and Bessie Moore Anderson.

Ike served in the United States Army during World War II with the Medical Corp assigned to General Omar Bradley and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge, he was retired from E. I. Dupont in management, since his retirement he has been a resident of Spring Lake, Fla., he was a member of First Baptist Church in Martinsville where he served as a deacon, was a Mason and member of Masonic Order, a member of Forest Park, Chatmoss and Lynwood Clubs and Spring Lake Golf Resort in Florida and had served on the board of directors at Forest Park and Lynwood Country Clubs. Ike was an avid bird hunter and raised bird dogs and a member of Quail Unlimited.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Olivia M. Anderson and his brothers, Frank T. Anderson, Jr. and R. E. Anderson.

He is survived by his son, Steven T. Anderson and wife, Cheryl of Martinsville.

The Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. John Fulcher officiating. There will be Military Honors at the service. The family will receive friends at cemetery following the service.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Martinsville, 23 Starling Avenue, Martinsville, VA 24112 or charity of the donors choice.
