LaVerne K. Berg, 89, Denmark, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 at Harmony of Denmark.

She was born December 12, 1925 in Sturgeon Bay, daughter to the late Louis and Martha (Grovogel) Spude. LaVerne worked in the Sturgeon Bay shipyard during World War II. She married and farmed with her first husband, Wallace Fischer, in Denmark for 20 years. She later moved to Brillion and worked at Brillion Iron Works for 20 years. LaVerne retired and moved to Porterfield. Upon the death of her husband, Gene Berg, in 1995, she came back and made her home in Denmark.

Survivors include her three children: Marlene (Bernard) Kurth; Darrell (Terrie) Fischer; Brenda (Mike) Schiesl; two step-children: Pamela (Jim) Schuh; Brian (Anita) Berg; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; five brothers and sisters: Regina Simons, Janet Bouche, Albert Spude, Donald (Angie) Spude, Gilbert (Diane) Spude; brother in-law, Harvey Ropson. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters: Margaret, Milton, Evelyn, Eugene, Helen, Louis Jr, Ronald; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jean Spude, Mary Ann Spude, Verna Spude, Robert Bouche, Ray Simons, Marvin Heagele, Marie Spude, Bernard Souget.

Family and friends may visit Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where there will be a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Yeng Yang and Rev. Henry Yoap. Entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum.
