Obituary - Mrs. Georgianna Yarrington King, who was born in Sayville on July 7th, 67 years ago, a daughter of George W. and Sarah A. Yarrington, died on Wednesday in Islip at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. John Kasin. She had been suffering terribly for the past 11 weeks with rheumatism and this was complicated by a stroke.
Mrs. King was married to Luther King, who died many years ago. Her only daughter, Fannie, wife of George Drake, of Bayport, also died some years ago and Mrs. King continued to make her home in the Drake household and cared for her grandchildren for several years. About eight years ago she moved to Islip. While she lived in Sayville, she was a very active worker in St. Ann's Episcopal Church, in the Sunday school and the various women's organizations.
Surviving Mrs. King are two sisters, Mrs. Martha Simonson, of Sayville, and Mrs. Oscar Dow, of Islip, her grandchildren, Mrs. John Kasin, and Miss Thelma Drake and Stephen, Georgianna, and Coralie Drake, of Glenwood Landing, and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in St. Ann's Church, of which she was a member, the Rev. Joseph H. Bond, the rector, officiating. The interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery.
