MAPLE GROVE, Minnesota -- Margaret Vincent Thompson, of Maple Grove, Minnesota, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015. Margaret was known for her sense of humor, her light Boston accent, her Hermit cookie recipe and for the love she showed everyone she met.
Born in 1923 in Fitchburg, MA, Margaret received her BS in Nursing from Children's Hospital in Boston. She moved to MN, raised her five children and retired as a nurse from Honeywell in 1985 after 25 years.
Margaret was preceded in death by husband, Wayne Thompson, brothers, Richard (Audrey) Vincent, and John Vincent, parents, Alfred and Dorothy Vincent.
She is survived by sister, Phyllis Eckfeldt; sons, Richard (Jennifer) Cottrell and Stephen Cottrell, daughters, Susan (Vern) Robbins, Dorothy Cottrell, and Nancy Sutherland; stepdaughter, Mary Watson, and 10 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A reception celebrating her life will be held at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Dr., Chaska, MN on Sunday, June 14th from 3-5 pm. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
