She was not put into the Danube-River, which is deep in the South of Germany. It was a small river, the Elde, if at all you can call it a river, which flows into the Elbe. The Elbe is in that part of Germany and flows in Hamburg into the sea.

It was near Magdeburg, where the children, their parents, Hitler and Eva Braun and the dogs had been buried for ca. 25 years near a complex of car parks. When the Red Army left in the early 1970s from that part of Magdeburg, they decided to get rid of them, since they had buried and dug up them all several times (first two or three times in Berlin- Buch) and feared the dead ones would eventual be found by people which lived in these houses .
Very gruesome, by the way, since both Grandmothers, which brought up the children since the parents had been absent nearly all the time, were strict against the Nazis, and searched desperate, but never learned where those poor children have ended.

The ashes were scattered in 1970 in the river Ehle near Biederitz (Saxony-Anhalt) by Russian first lieutenant Gumenjuk.
