During the depression years they moved to Wisconsin where they bought and operated a Resort. They eventually moved back to Chicago where John dealt with commercial Real Estate. He did investigative work on property with back taxes. He would buy property and resell it. Amelia was a homemaker and Mother following her marriage. John would discourage her from working outside their home. Amelia and John retired to a home in Palm Beach Shores Florida. They had four children. She died from Cancer of the Stomach.
