Wayne Eugene McPhail, 87, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2015. He was born August 14, 1927 in Missouri. God anointed Wayne to be an aviator since he was 17 years old. He purchased his first plane at the age of 17. Since then, after serving in the Army Air Corp, he has kept up in the aviation business. He has run two aviation schools, one in Tulsa and one in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He also instructed flight training to many people for nearly 40 years. He loved his work and said more than once, "I never worked a day in my life."

Wayne is survived by his wife of nearly 31 years, Marilynne, a brother in Colorado, and three stepchildren: Gregory Alan Daniel, Connie Lynn Snyder, and Lisa Lynne Daniel.

After retiring, he built model airplanes, big and small, and flew them when he could. He also was licensed to help his wife in her business.

Wayne took care of his wife and truly was a real man, morally and spiritually, all through their marriage.

We will celebrate his home coming to be with Jesus at Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m.
