Her first Husband was John Morgan
SHREVEPORT, LA - Betty Ann Caldwell Morgan Burke passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at age 92. She was predeceased by parents Sam and Polly Caldwell, her husband John Morgan, daughter Polly Decker Morgan, grandson Justin Caldwell Owen, and her husband Milton Pope Burke, and step-daughter Maisie Burke.
Born and raised in Shreveport, Betty graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana and was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. She and husband John lived in Keatchie until his death in 1959. She later returned to Shreveport where she met and married Milton Burke. Those who knew Betty loved her quick wit and love of animals.
She is survived by her step-daughter Lee Burke, step-son Milton Burke, grandchildren, Kelley Morris, Marshall Burke, and Massey Burke, great-grandchildren, Zella and Hattie Burke, and Shepherd Caldwell Owen, his mother, Ella Bridges Owen, and former son-in-law Kim Thomas Owen. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. R. Rhodes Stipp.
