Verna attended Sangerville schools. She married Edward on October 4, 1946. After high school she was employed by the Sangerville Woolen Company. She worked at the Abby Fowler School in Sangerville and then at Hardwood Products in Guilford until her retirement. She enjoyed the many family members and friends at her camp on Piper Pond in Abbot. Jane's famous chocolate chip cookies were always Verna's favorite treat! During the winter months, Verna befriended some wild turkeys. Molly, her beloved cat, stood in front of the window, alerting Verna with her special meow, announcing that the turkeys were there and ready to be fed.
She is survived by a son, Michael E. Clukey, of Guilford; a daughter, Catherine Frankowski and her husband, Oliver, of Dexter; three grandchildren, Aric Frankowski and his wife, Amanda, of Punta Gorda, FL, Kristen Clukey of Brunswick, Karen Smith and her husband, Tim, of Dover-Foxcroft; a great granddaughter, Jessica Frankowski, and a great grandson, Logan Frankowski, both of Punta Gorda, FL; a great grandson Anthony Smith, and great granddaughters, Allie and Julia Smith of Dover-Foxcroft; a niece, Mary Jane Bullard, and her husband, Phil, of Hancock and Brooksville, FL; a niece, Suzanne Fortier and her husband, Kent, of Sangerville; and a nephew, Robert Zimmerman, and his wife, Linda, of Abbot; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Moulton of Sangerville; great nieces, Carol Wharff, and her husband, Jeff, of Sangerville, and Cindy Troy, and her husband, Martin of Waterville; and a great nephew, Chester (Skip) Moulton of Eddington.
