Actress. Parry starred in a number of critically acclaimed films, including Franco Zeffirelli’s 'Romeo and Juliet' in 1968. The daughter of director Gordon Parry, she appeared on stage for the first time at the age of 12 and made her film debut in 1949's 'The Gay Adventure'. In 1951, she married theatre and film director Peter Brook and performed in many of his stage productions, including 'King Lear' in 1953. The play was later adapted for American television, in which she co-starred with Orson Welles. She appeared in such films as 'Windom’s Way' (1957), 'Midnight Lace' (1960), 'Meetings With Remarkable Men' (1979), 'The Prodigal Daughter' (1981) and 'The Taste of Blueberries' (2014). Among stage productions she starred in were 'The Figure of Fun', 'Exit the King', 'A Streetcar Named Desire', 'Hippolytus' and 'Beauty and the Beast'. On TV, she had roles on several series and made-for-TV movies, such as 'You Know What People Are', 'Man of the World', 'Jackanory', 'Sexton Blake and the Demon God' and 'The Tragedy of Hamlet'. Parry died after suffering a stroke while vacationing in France.
