Andrew Hanna was born in 1830 in Ohio, his father, James, was 29 and his mother, Nancy, was 23. He had one son and two daughters with Emily Jane Maxfield; Laura C Hanna, Clarence Kinsey Hanna, and Belle Emma (Hanna) Rooney.

In the early 1900s Emily left Mankato and moved to Canyon county, Idaho along with Clarence and Belle.
