Mr. Donnie Lyle Allen, age 86 of Manchester, Tennessee passed from this life on Sunday, July 19, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Everett R. and Maude Louise Scruggs Allen.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Betty Forrest Womack Allen, , two daughters, Cynthia Jo Seabolt of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kimberly Rackliff and husband Mark of Indiana, five sons, Jim Allen of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Gerald Ray Allen of Manchester, Tennessee, Michael Douglas Allen and Jennifer of Manchester, Tennessee, Forrest Lee Parton and wife Lisa of Manchester, Tennessee, Steven Allen and wife Cheryl of Knoxville, Tennessee, , five sisters, Gloria Brown and husband David of Morrison, Tennessee, Malinda Taylor of Manchester, Tennessee, Wanda Bailey of Manchester, Tennessee, Patsy Harmon of Morrison, Tennessee, Vivian Benson of Manchester, Tennessee, four brothers, Bobby Allen and wife Sue of McMinnville, Tennessee, Tom Allen and wife Carol of Manchester, Tennessee, Gary Allen and wife Janice of Manchester, Tennessee, John Allen of Manchester, Tennessee, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Mr. Donnie Lyle Allen was born on March 21, 1929. He was a native of Summitville, Tennessee and a Veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the 82nd Airborne Division serving his country from 1945 until 1953. He was of the Baptist faith. Donnie was one of the leaders and helped to establish the Summitville Volunteer Fire Department and he continued to provide support for this effort for the majority of his adult life. He had been a long term machinist, tool and die maker for MagnaTek Century Electric Incorporated, in addition to establishing his own business, Allen Machine and Tool when he worked for twenty years. Donnie also loved gathering with friends and family, especially large family gatherings with lots of food and a few friendly card games. He had a fascination with railroads and history. His family and his friends were most precious to him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Funeral Services for Mr. Donnie Lyle Allen will be conducted on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Frank Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the Summitville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel, Manchester, Tennessee.
