ENFIELD, CT - Norma Adelaide [Sawtelle] Wasileski of Enfield, CT died at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, October 19, 2007 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of George Sawtelle and Hazel [Blanchard] Deyo. Norma was born on April 6, 1930, in Keene, New Hampshire.

She attended local schools and graduated from Keene High School in 1949. She worked in the Customer Service Department at Sears in Keene, where she lived until her marriage to Chester Wasileski on March 31, 1950. Norma had a day care center in her home where she loved and cared for many children in the late 1950's through the early 1970's. She also worked at Sears and General Nutrition Center in Enfield after her husband's retirement. Norma has been a resident of Enfield for 57 years and a communicant of St. Adalbert's Church for over fifty years. She was a homemaker and the heart and soul of her family, and a woman of great strength and humor. Norma was a warm, kind, thoughtful, and loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great friend who demonstrated true generosity of spirit. She was an extremely talented seamstress and a creative cook. She also enjoyed knitting, needlework, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Norma is survived by her husband of 57 years, Chester Wasileski; her two sons Chester J. Wasileski and his wife Lynn Dubreuil of Springfield, MA, and Steven Wasileski and his wife Heather of Enfield; her two daughters Nancy and her husband Allen Simmons of Hazardville, and Tracey and her husband David Higgins of Windsor Locks. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, who were the light of her life; her sister-in-law and close friend Florence Dixon of Hinsdale, N.H.; her brother-in-law Kenneth and his wife, Celia Wasileski of Ashuelot, N.H.; her sisters-in-law Sophie Dominick of Winchester, N.H., and Stella Lindsey of Manchester, N.H.; her brothers Frank Sawtelle and Edward Sawtelle of Keene NH; her sisters Marye Desruisseau and Myrna and her husband Roy Bushey all of Keene, N.H. She also leaves her good friends and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Burial will be St. Adalbert's Cemetery.
