He served in the Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. After returning home from the war he worked in the Brattleboro area, where he lived until his marriage to Norma Sawtelle on March 31, 1950. He worked at Pratt Whitney until his retirement in 1987.
Chet has been a resident of Enfield for 58 years and was a communicant of St. Adalbert Church in Enfield for over fifty years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved gardening, traveling with Norma and truly enjoyed ‘cocktail hour’ with his children. He was an avid sports fan. Baseball and the Red Sox were his passion. Chet loved nothing more than spending time with and being surrounded by his family.
Chet and Norma were married for 57 years and had four wonderful children. He leaves his son Chester J. Wasileski and his wife Lynn Dubreuil of Springfield, MA; his son Steven Wasileski and his wife Heather of Enfield; his daughter Nancy and her husband Allen Simmons of Hazardville; and his daughter Tracey and her husband David Higgins of Windsor Locks. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren; his brother Kenneth and his wife Celia Wasileski of Ashuelot, N.H.; his sisters: Florence Dixon of Hinsdale, N.H, Sophie Dominick of Winchester, N.H.; and Stella Lindsey of Manchester, N.H.; his brothers-in-law Frank Sawtelle and Edward Sawtelle; his sisters-in-law Marye Desruisseau and Myrna and her husband Roy Bushey all of Keene, N.H. He also leaves many nieces, nephews special neighbors and friends.
Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery.
