CLAUDE ALTER DIES OF BURNS
Body of Claude Alter, fifty-nine, Detroit, Mich., formerly of Marion, today had been returned to 805 South Adams Street. He died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at a Norwalk, Ohio hospital as the result of burns suffered in an automobile-truck accident Thursday.

Reports revealed Mr. Alter, a truck operator, was forced to drive his truck on the berm of a road near Norwalk. The vehicle overturned and caught fire. He was severely burned.

Native of Whitley county, Mr. Alter lived in Marion for many years and has visited frequently after he moved to Detroit five years ago.

Surviving Mr. Alter are three sons, Romaine, George and Albert all of Detroit; three brothers, Charles, William and Grover, Marion; and six grandchildren.
