Born Feb. 23, 1942, in Nanking, China, she lived in North County for 16 years. She was a computer programmer at MCTSSA on Camp Pendleton, and retired in 2004. She enjoyed playing video poker and going to the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
She had a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in information systems technology from National University.
Mrs. Schack was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Schack.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Jeffrey Schroeder of Vista, Rita Schack of Houston and Anita and Ian Cheesman of San Diego; mother Gin Tsai Hsu of Flushing, N.Y.; brothers Brett Hsu of Richardson, Texas, and S.C. Hsu of Taipei, Taiwan; sisters Laureen Ku of Milipitas, Sandra Wang, Diana Shih and Lannie Hsu, all of Flushing, and Carol Wang of Oyster Bay, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, at Calvary Chapel Oceanside, 3715 Oceanic Way.
Interment will follow at noon at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road in San Diego.
