He died Sunday in a hospital.
Mr. Schack was born in Melbourne, Ky., and was a resident of the county during his 23 years in the Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; three daughters, Debbie, Rita and Anita, all of Santee; his mother; a brother; and four sisters.
