Eloise Marie (Carpenter) Van Lom, born to Charles Carpenter and Catherine (Opitz) Carpenter, passed away May 5, 2015. A Portland native, she graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1945 and attended Marylhurst College.

Eloise married Melvin John Van Lom June 22, 1949. Eloise and Mel had a long and happy marriage until Mel's sudden passing in June 1996. Her sister, Charlene, predeceased her in 2005. Eloise is survived by her brother, Raymond Carpenter; daughters, Carla (Gary) Cumpston, Jean Van Lom, Karen (Gary) Pavek and Donna (Mark) Parker; son, Barry Van Lom; grandchildren, Scott, Katie, Jennifer, Rachel, Schaela, Jason, James, Jane and Sarah; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Nolan and Stella.
