Alva moved from his native Kansas to Carmichael, Sacramento County, CA with his family at an early age, in his teenage years they moved to Placerville and finally as a married man with children he moved to Hawthorne, Mineral, NV.
He served during WWII with the U.S. Navy.
When he lived in Placerville he worked for P.G.&E., Veerkamp's turkey ranch, Michigan-Cal Lumber and Waldren's Pontiac.
He was a member of St Patrick's Church and for many years was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Kitty Heaney of Nevada; sons Ned Heaney of Placerville, Harry Heaney of Nevada, and Kalvin Heaney of Fallbrook; daughters Beverly Gilbert of Fallbrook and Trena Odom of Nevada; brothers G. Stanley Heaney of Concord, Contra Costa, CA, and Gene L. Heaney of Carmichael, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Memorial mass and blessing was held over Ned's cremains at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Hawthorne, NV, cremains were then shipped to Placerville for placement in the St Patrick's Cemetery per his obit.
