Theodore "Ted" Rosevelt Allen

October 31, 1925 - April 5, 2015

SALEM - A celebration of life will be held for Ted on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Center 50+, 2615 Portland Rd NE in Salem.

Ted was a veteran of World War II and his remains were previously interred at Willamette National Cemetery.

Ted was a long time resident of the Drakes Crossing area of Silverton where he and his family had a small farm. Ted was a man of many talents and was a mechanic, diesel mechanic and then became an independent trucker. When Ted and Kathy retired they sold their farm and moved to Salem. The last 2 years of his life were spent at The Woods at Willow Creek, where he was cared for by the most wonderful staff of caregivers anyone could ask for.

Ted enjoyed fishing, boating and working in his garden. At the age of 80 Ted was hired at Chemeketa Community College working in the greenhouse. "Best job I ever had".

Ted is survived by his wife of 61 years Katherine, their 4 children, Cheryl Genzel (Mike), James, Katherine Sim (Mike) and Colleen Barnhart, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ted's memory to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or other Veteran service groups of your choice.
