Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church for Samuel H. Martin, prominent Portland lawyer and son of former Oregon Gov. Charles H. Martin, who died Monday at his home. He was 74.
Mr. Martin was a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School. He started practicing law in Portland in 1932.
Mr. Martin was president of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Oregon, a president of the University Club and, for the past few years, clerk of the vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughter, Margaret Martin, San Francisco; sons, Charles H. Martin, Portland, John L. Martin, with the U.S. Embassy in Nicaragua, and Thomas H. Martin, Pacific Palisades, Calif.; sister, Jane Martin Pyne, Annapolis, Md.; and six grandchildren.
