Born in Catharine, Ellis County, KS., Father Francis A. Staab, 69, of Perry, former pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Topeka, died Thursday in a Topeka hospital.

Father attended St. Fidelis College, Herman, Pa., and took his theological study at Victoria. He was ordained Sept. 22, 1918 in Baltimore, Md., and spent eight years in parishes in the East. He came to the Leavenworth diocese in February 1926, and was appointed assistant pastor of Blessed Sacrament parish, Kansas City, KS. He was assistant pastor of St. John’s Catholic Church in Greeley, before becoming pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Topeka in 1933. He became pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lenexa in Jan. 1952, and pastor of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Perry, in Sept. 1960.

Survivors include four brothers, Charles, Santa Fe, N.M., Alfonse and Leopold, both of Kansas City, Mo., and Fidelis, Fort Worth, Tex., and a sister, Miss Felicitas Staab,
Perry.
