Professional Racecar Driver. Wilson was a prominent open-wheel racer for many years, competing for Minardi and Jaguar in Formula One. In 2004, he moved into American open wheel series and later to IndyCar in 2008. He had seven major U.S. open-wheel wins including three in the IndyCar Series. His last win came at Texas Motor Speedway in 2012. That same year, he was a part of the winning team at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Wilson died one day after he was hit in the head by a piece of debris from a car that hit a wall which then bounced off the track and struck a trailing Wilson in the helmet.
Wilson was cremated at a private ceremony before a reception was held at Silverstone where the flags flew at half mast.
