Frank Joseph DaVanon, age 92, of San Diego's North Park area, died on Nov 7 at 1:45 p.m. He was born on Oct 30, 1913, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Lt. Charles and Josephine DaVanon. He married Helen Jane Sticken Townsend in Glencoe, Illinois, on Nov 30, 1940.

Mr. DaVanon attended Trinity Methodist Church and was a member of Al Bahr Shrine and Southern Star Chapter 96, Order of the Eastern Star, where he served as Worthy Patron. He was also a Master Mason in the Masonic "Silvergate" Lodge.

He is survived by a daughter, Marion DaVanon Gregg (husband Larry) of Riverton, Ill and their families, and son Frank G. (Jerry) DaVanon (wife Suzanne) of Houston, Texas and their families.

The service for Frank J. DaVanon is to be held at the Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary on Nov 11 at 2pm. Memorial contributions can be made to any Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children. Published in The San Diego Union Tribune on Nov. 10, 2005
