Aged Cattle Buyer Dies
Joseph H. Barton, 84, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lida Brooks of Mt. Haley township at 7am. today after a lingering illness.
Mr. Barton who was a cattle buyer, had lived all his life in Midland county, spending about the last one and a half years with his daughter, Mrs. Brooks. He was born April 7, 1861 in Homer township.
Funeral services have been set for Monday at 2pm. from the Bradley Funeral home. Burial will be in Homer cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Brooks and Mrs. Frank Beierwaltes of Saginaw; one son Charles of Midland; four sisters, Mrs. Kate Hickerson of Mt. Haley, Mrs. Rose Swarthout of Beaverton, Mrs. Maude Frost of Eldred PA., Mrs. Edward Sirrine of Midland; one brother, Floyd of Port Huron ; two grandchildren, Charles Brooks of Midland and Barton McDonald of Saginaw and three great grandchildren.
