DEATH OF GEORGE MURPHY
George Murphy, an old citizen residing near Virgil City, southwest of this place, died at his home last Sunday at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 9 days. Mr. Murphy is survived by two sons and two; daughters. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Henry Hubbard, were held last Monday afternoon and interment was in the Virgil Cemetery.

George W. Murphy born, 78 years, 6 months, 9 days, July 4, 1846 in Indiana, died January 13, 1924 in Virgil, Vernon County, Missouri of mitral insuffenciency, burial in Virgil City Cemetery, informant B. O. Murphy, Wyoming. He married Ara M. Wright on July 26, 1887 in Hickory County, Missouri. From one of the later censuses, seven known children were born to him: Grant, Dulcie, Alma, Olive, Burl, William, and Cecil.

Eliza Castle Murphy Bartshe, James Clark Murphy, Bertie Virginia Murphy Breshears, Grant George Murphy.
