I made a memorial page for William from his death cert. info. and linked his parents with him. His death cert. has his mother's maiden name was Steele but that's not so, from research her maiden name was Kimzey, his maternal gr.mother's maiden name was Steele. The informant on his death cert. was his daughter Jean Duncan.
I made a photo request which was fulfilled (thank you) which proves William served in WWI, so far no WWI records for him other than his registration on June 5, 1917 in Lawrence Co. Arkansas.
I last found William on the 1956 Directory listing for Corpus Christi, TX as Dwight W. Duncan, no address listed and no one else listed with him so his middle name might have been his first name.
I found his wife Jewell on 1960 Directory listed alone working as a saleswoman at Lichtenstein's in Corpus Christi, TX. So far I've not found no other records of his wife after 1960. The double marker for William and wife does not have her death listed so I believe she probably married again or if she's buried beside William they didn't update her marker with her death date.
If anyone viewing this is directly descended from William Dwight Duncan then I will transfer his memorial page to you. I'm related to William thru his paternal Gr.mother, Nancy Emeline McBride Duncan of Tipton Co. Tennessee who was an older sister to my G.G.gr.mother, Mary Jane McBride McNair. If you would like more info. of them they're all in my tree, Southern by the Grace of God, on Ancestry.com, thanks, Kay.
