CHARLES GUY DELONG, age 92, went to be with the Lord on Monday May 22, 2006. He was a wonderful husband, dad and "Poppie". He was born on October 27, 1913 on a farm in Kingston, Ohio, the youngest of five brothers, Darroll, Wayne, Carl and Kenneth DeLong, sons of George and Arie DeLong.

Mr. DeLong was an Air Force veteran of WWII, stationed at Ellington Field, a member of Bellaire Presbyterian Church, and a retiree from ExxonMobil after 31 years of service. He was also a 60 year member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, a long-time local Real Estate Investor and proud Ohio State "Buckeye". He was a resident of Bellaire, Texas since 1949, and truly enjoyed his weekend home at Lake Winona in Grimes County, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Palm DeLong in 1951, and second wife, Eloise Gage DeLong in 2002. Survivors include his son, George Thomas DeLong; daughters, Leah Doyle and Claire Johnson; granddaughters, Kimberly Billings and Shannon Streger; grandsons, Johnny and Frank Girard; and great grandchildren, Jennifer, Meredith, Hannah, Leah, Johnny and Dominick.

A special thanks to The Methodist Hospital, especially Dr. Kelvin Lee, and caregivers, Carol Barlow and Roslynn Waterman. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, May 29, 2006 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 in the chapel of Forest Park Westheimer, with graveside services and burial to follow in the cemetery. For those desiring, donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, Citizens for Animal Protection or a favorite charity of choice.
