Funeral services for Floyd Elmer Richert, 50 road commissioner at Bluff Springs Township, who was electrocuted Tuesday morning when working on bridge removal on a Sangamon Valley road, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Ev. Lutheran church at Bluff Springs. The Rev. Robert Stone of Virginia will officiate. Burial will be in City Cemetery at Beardstown.
Friends may call from 7:30 to 9 p.m. This evening at Northcutt Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services Thursday.
Floyd Elmer Reichert was born September 27, 1910, son of Elmer A. and Cora Oetgen Reichert of Bluff Springs. He was a veteran of World War II: a member of American Legion: and a member of Elks Club.
He is survived by his wife, Violet; parents; three brothers, Roy, of Bluff Springs, Carlos of Davenport, Iowa, and Elmer C. of Arenzville; three sisters, Mrs Maurice Jockisch of Virginia, Mrs John Taylor of Macon, and Mrs. James Rogers of Decatur; and many nieces and nephews. One brother preceded him in death.
Inquest To Be Scheduled Coroner Joe Lintner of Chandlerville and Deputy Paul Harrison have selected a jury for the inquest to be scheduled later. Jurors viewed the body today and the coroner started assembling evidence to present at the inquest next week.
