TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Mrs. Lena B. Thomas, formerly of McDonald and Niles, died peacefully in her sleep, Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at her home in Traverse City, Mich., just days after celebrating her 92nd birthday.
She was born Nov. 9, 1916, in Rochester Mills, Pa., a daughter of Wilson and Effie Frederick Sutter.
Her husband, William O. Thomas, Sr., preceded her in death.
Mrs. Thomas managed the Thomas family farm in McDonald prior to moving to Michigan. She was a member of the Niles First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her son, William, Jr. of Traverse City; a granddaughter.; a step-granddaughter , and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a grandson; two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call one hour prior to the 1:30 p.m. funeral service Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel.
Burial will be at Kerr Cemetery.
Michigan arrangements were handled by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Traverse City.
