Clarence Runyen enlisted in the Navy on October 28, 1937 as an officer. He retired on August 29, 1950. Soon after retirement he married his second wife, Mary Ann Terjanian. They had one son together, Clifford James. Clarence opened a clock store in Waukegan, Illinois and after five years decided to move his family to California. Clarence got a job working as an engineer at an aerospace company, TRW, in El Segundo, CA. Clarence was known to his family as the television and electrical fix it guru. Clarence loved the beach and sunning. He stood over 6 feet tall. Clarence left us too soon. He passed away in his sleep of a heart attack. His funeral was held at Holy Cross Cemetery, and he was laid to rest with a 21 gun salute.
