The former Mabel Bruce was born January 10, 1908, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Albert and Lillian Maloney Bruce. Mabel attended school in Wauwatosa, Wis. On June 1, 1927, she married Louis Peroutka at Milwaukee. The couple moved to Francis Creek and owned and operated Peroutka's Tavern in Francis Creek until 1983. Mabel also worked as a nurses aide at the Maple Crest Sanitarium for seven years, retiring in 1973. She is a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, St. Anne Christian Mothers and a former member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Mary Ann Peroutka, Marshfield, Robert and Sandy Peroutka, town of Gibson; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Carol and Al Knappmiller, St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Pauline Bruce, Adams County, Wis.; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Margaret Lewis, Milwaukee, Jean Gartzke, Oconomowoc, Eileen and Vernon Komppa, Brookfield; nieces, nephews, other relative and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis on July 8, 1983; two brothers and five sisters. Relatives and friends may call at St. Anne Catholic Church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Kellnersville is serving the family.
