PEKIN ~ Daniel W. Rassi, 81, of 901 Illini Drive in East Peoria, passed away at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Fondulac Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in East Peoria. He was formerly of 1523 South 3rd Street in Pekin.

Born January 8, 1924 in Morton to Christian and Sarah Rein Rassi, he married Priscilla Ann Smoot on May 15, 1953 in Pekin. She died February 19, 2001 in rural Manito. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one infant sister, and five brothers.

Surviving are three brothers, Ben (Betty) Rassi of Morton, and Alfie Rassi and Clarence (Dolores) Rassi, both of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

Dan worked in sales for Chris Hoerr and Son for 46 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of the Morton Lodge #352, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons for over 50 years and also a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria. He was a former member of the Elk's Lodge.

He enjoyed golfing.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2005 in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Chaplain David Rodden will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
