Scottish Singer. Diamond, born James Diamond, was a singer well known for several top five hits in the United Kingdom during the 1980s. He started his music career with the band The Method and would move on to other bands early in his career. In the late 1970s Diamond went to Los Angeles and spent time recording and performing at various locations. In 1982 he got his first big break when he formed the band PhD, with Tony Hymas and Simon Phillips, and recorded his first big hit "I Won't Let You Down". Soon after the band broke up and Diamond went solo, recording his next big hit "I Should Have Known Better" in 1984. He later had a hit with the theme song from the movie "Boon", "Hi Ho Silver". Diamond was also known for doing vocals on other performers' solo outings as well. He remained in the music industry until his passing and his son Lawrence has continued into his father's "footsteps".
