Ethel E. Ramsey

Ethel L. Ramsey, 79, 1422 Mount Vernon Ave., died Friday afternoon at East Lawn Manor after an extended illness.

She was born in Hico, W. Va., March 16, 1911, a daughter of Omar and Maude Nutter Hypes.

Retired from employment as a clerk with Fair Park Sundries, Mrs. Ramsey was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church.

Her husband, Lewis, preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Richard Ramsey, Marion, a daughter, Marty Brown, Marion, five sisters, Elda Miers, Tucson, Ariz., Phala Beddow, Oregon, Florence Legg and Helen Morton, West Virginia, and Virginia Skaggs, Loris, S.C.; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A son and five brothers are deceased.

The service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Marion Cemetery Chapel with the Revs. Ken Durtsche and Arthur Derry officiating. Burial will be in Marion Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Terry O'Hare, Shawn O'Hare, Quinn O'Hare, Spencer Brown, Rob Shirk and Ric Chivington.

Friends may call at Boyd Funeral Home 6-9 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Park.
