Born Martin Ingerman, he was an actor and comedian who was both famous for his role in the 1960s television series "I'm Dickens, He's Fenster" and being the voice of many cartoon and commercial characters. His acting career began first with an appearance on the series "The Phil Silvers Show" in 1958 followed by with appearances on the series "Dan Raven" in 1960. Ingels' most popular role was in "I'm Dickens, He's Fenster" with John Astin from 1962 to 1963. He made later appearances on many shows such as "Pete and Gladys", "The Ann Sothern Show", "Hennesey", "Bewitched", and "Love Boat". Ingels also did voice-overs in commercials and played characters in such cartoons as "Pac-Man", "Autocat and Motormouse", and "The Great Grape Ape Show". He also appeared in such movies as "Armored Command" (1961), "The Horizontal Lieutenant" (1962), "Wild and Wonderful" (1964), "The Busy Body" (1967), "A Guide for the Married Man" (1967), "For Singles Only" (1968), "The Picasso Summer" (1969), "If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium" (1969), "Linda Lovelace for President" (1975), and "Instant Karma" (1990) In 1977 Ingels married actress Shirley Jones and they stayed married until his passing. In recent years he still made acting appearances, but also became more of an agent for different celebrities.
