Garry Richard Ashley

1957 ~ 2015

Born on March 12, 1957. Garry left us on October 20, 2015.

Garry was born in Salt Lake City to Russell and Jean Ashley, the eighth of twelve children.

He grew up in Kearns and graduated from Kearns High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Pat Anderson but later divorced. A second marriage to Wilma Edwards also ended in divorce after nearly twenty years but their relationship remained a loving one that centered on their very special daughter, Adria.

Garry worked for many years at the Pax Company Salt Lake facility where he became a warehouse logistics expert. He later put that knowledge and skill to work at the L-3 Communications West stores/warehouse department where he became known as the "go-to man". He will be greatly missed by his many friends and co-workers at L-3. Garry had a love of and great talent for designing in woods and metals. He loved working with his hands.

Garry is survived by his brothers, Ken (Shelly), Russell (Wendy), John (Clarise) and Wendell; and his sisters Laura Ashley, Donna Warr, Diane (Tim) Scott, Wendy (Brady) Rich, Dorothy Orr. He is preceded in death by our parents, Russell and Jean Ashley; sister Darlene; and brother Dwayne. We will miss you Garry, and we love you so much.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 27th, 6-8:00 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where friends and family can gather to remember and celebrate his life with us. A private interment will be held at a later date.
