ANTONIN PODRABSKY
(1877 - 1898)

TAKES HIS OWN LIFE
Anton Podrabsky Committed Suicide at Kossuth Yesterday Shortly After Noon
FORMERLY EMPLOYED HERE
Deceased Was 24 Years of Age and Subject to Attacks of Epilepsy.

Anton Podrabsky, a young man 24 years of age, committed suicide yesterday at the home of his parents in the town of Kossuth. He was subject to attacks of epilepsy and had often made threats of taking his own life. Shortly after noon yesterday he retired to his own room and placing the muzzle of a rifle over his heart pulled the trigger. His mother, who was at home alone, heard the shot and immediately hastened to his assistance, but it was too late.

The deceased was a resident of this city up to within a few weeks ago, being employed by A. Witt, the harness maker, but gave up his position to take a rest. He was in the city last week and called on Mr. Witt to make arrangements in regard to resuming his work after Jan. 1st.

Constant brooding over his affliction is supposed to be the motive that prompted him to take his life. As a boy, at school, he was very studious and physicians who have treated him are of the opinion that over study was the cause of these frequent attacks. His home life was of the most pleasant character and by his friends he is spoken of as an exemplary young man.

An inquest is being held over the remains this afternoon.
